Who and how

We apologise. We haven't altered the look or content of our old "Jobsearch Help" section.

We probably will, though it is impossible to say when it might be integrated into the new look. Anyway, click the button below to enter the old days...

JOBSHOP FACILITIES

We run two local "Jobshops", one at the centre in Stockton and the other in Billingham. These provide a number of useful services aimed at helping you to find work. Jobshop services are available to everyone but are free if you are currently unemployed.

  • Individually prepared CV with up to 10 copies and envelopes per week. It usually takes a day or so to finish these.
  • Free photocopies of any jobhunting materials.
  • Free use of telephone and/or fax for jobhunting tasks.
  • Free Internet and e-mail access for jobhunting.
  • Access to all local "job" papers and internal borough council vacancies.
  • Production of application and speculative letters.
  • Access to "Back-to-work" grants.
  • Modern Apprenticeships for 16 to 24-year-olds.

Of course, you can also improve your skills or add new ones by taking one of our courses. If you are in receipt of certain benefits, the course may be free.
